EduPlay
EduPlay programmes focus on supporting children?s overall development in the most loving, motivating and meaningful manner possible. A bridge between home and school, EduPlay programmes offer a unique learning environment where parents and caregivers have an integral role. Available in English and Mandarin, the activities are structured around age-appropriate activities and include language and maths concepts and games, sound recognition, Julia Gabriel PlayClub Bear stories, puppets, poetry, song, music, drama, art and craft.

PlayNest (6 to 18 months)
PlayNest focuses on developing attachment and security in very young children, enabling them to fulfil their full potential as they grow. The programme brings children together at the age most ideal for absorbing language, and helps them build a firm base for language through play, song, music and loving interaction with their caregivers.

PlayTime (6 months to 3 years)
Catering specifically to families where strong loving sibling relationships are valued and nurtured, PlayTime provides a warm, stimulating environment where children and their parents can play and learn together. Individually and as a group, young children are supported in their overall development - engaging in cooperative learning that will empower them with the life skills of living and working with others.

PlayClub (18 months to 3 ½ years old)
PlayClub is an interactive, dramatic and exciting learning experience which aims to foster self-control and autonomy. The curriculum is structured around letters of the alphabet (English) and key concept words (Mandarin), numbers, shapes and colours, and incorporates indoor and outdoor play, music, art and craft, hands-on pre-science activities, stories, speech, drama and snack.

A fun-packed programme exposes children to early language and communication skills and is developed through structured and free play. Accompanying adults are encouraged to join in the music, speech and drama sessions, and are advised on matters of discipline, nurturing co-ordination skills, creative expression and early learning.

Bilingual Play (1 to 3 years)
Combining the best of Mandarin PlayClub and English PlayClub, this bilingual programme is an exciting, interactive and original programme where activities flow between the two language media, enabling children to enjoy and absorb both languages of communication effortlessly.

PlayNursery (2 ½ to 4 years old)
This is the start of a child's independent experience away from home, where children attend classes without parent accompaniment. An enriched nursery programme provides exposure to good language models of Standard English and Standard Mandarin in a curriculum that meets the emotional, cognitive, physical, social and aesthetic needs of the pre-kindergarten child through direct experiences.

SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMMES - ENGLISH AND MANDARIN (3 to 18 years)

Our signature EduDrama programmes, conducted in Standard English and Standard Mandarin, aim to build self-confidence, skills of self-leadership, self-esteem and fluency of expression through the development of speech and language skills. An interactive teaching method, in small groups, takes place in a fun yet structured environment that is stimulating and pressure free. Students? potential is maximised because they feel safe, nurtured and good about themselves.

Children progress through each level of the EduDrama process from Nursery 1 to Teens? Club, with the opportunity to receive Trinity Guildhall awards at the end of each year from Primary 1 and above.

A books-based programme aimed at helping students realise their potential to become effective and motivated readers and writers. A journey of creative writing exposes the student to a wide range of activities and learning styles and programmes. Pre-school students take home books from a unique reading scheme to help build their own personal libraries.

Mandarin programmes at Julia Gabriel Centre for Learning

Mandarin programmes at Julia Gabriel Centre for Learning motivate children?s interest in learning about Chinese culture, language, reading and writing in a fun way. Children build a strong foundation and confidence in speaking Standard Mandarin, equipping them for studying the language at every level of primary school.

Mandarin programmes begin for children as young as 6 months old, from non-Mandarin as well as Mandarin speaking backgrounds, enabling them to ?catch? Mandarin in a nurturing, language-rich, environment.

As children progress through our programmes to Mandarin EduDrama, they acquire most of their speech skills through drama, a natural extension of child?s play and an enjoyable, stimulating way to learn. At nursery level, music and movement, rhyme and rhythm are used to stimulate sensitivity to the tones and textures of Mandarin. Creative arts and crafts extend language skills further and an interest in Chinese culture.

From kindergarten level and above children learn to develop expressive voices, clear speech and accurate pronunciation through conversation, speech and language games, Chinese literature and essay writing.
