In 1998 one of Britain’s most famous schools, Harrow, granted an agreement to open Harrow International School in Bangkok. At its green, spacious campus at Don Muang a typical British Day and Boarding school education is provided for an international group of students aged from Crèche (3 months) to 18 years.
Harrow International School is a member of the Council of International School (CIS) and the Federation of British International Schools in South East Asia (FOBISSEA). The school received full Accreditation from CIS in 2006.
The 1,200 students represent 29 different nationalities. The teaching staff, which is predominantly from the UK, is highly qualified and many have international experience. At Harrow the medium of instruction is English. The curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum leading to I/GCSE, and the pre-university A/S and A2 Level examinations. Examination results in I/GCSE and A Level are excellent and Harrow students gain entry to leading universities in the UK, Australia, Thailand and worldwide.
Harrow has an extensive co-curricular programme giving students opportunities to develop skills in sports, the performing and visual arts, leisure activities, clubs and community service. The facilities at school are of a very high standard and are matched by the level of care and support each student receives, which ensures that their welfare and academic progress are carefully monitored. The House system fosters a sense of identity as well as supporting the pastoral care of students.
For pupils whose home is a considerable distance from school, or whose parents live overseas, Harrow International is able to offer comfortable and modern boarding school facilities on its campus. These facilities are available for pupils between the ages of 8 and 18. Resident house staff oversee the welfare of the pupils.
The school also offers academic/activities holiday programmes (Christmas, Songkran and July /August) and Saturday School to extend English Language skills for non-native speakers.
