The centre was established in Mount Alvernia Hospital on 28 November 2006 and has a reputation for offering quality eye care services with cutting-edge state-of- the-art eye treatment technology to patients at an affordable price.

The centre has recently acquired two of the latest and most advanced LASER technologies –
Wavelight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q 400Hz Excimer Laser and Ziemer’s FEMTO LDV Bladeless Laser.
The Allegretto Wave is arguably one of the fastest and most accurate laser systems in the world to date providing patients with a customised wavefront optimised laser treatment while the versatility of the Ziemer’s FEMTO LDV provides a seamless, accurate, bladeless, all Laser LASIK procedure as an option for patients at EEC.
EEC is also reputed for its expertise in Presbyopia and Cataract treatment and provides all forms of Presbyopia treatment available in the market to date. As the leader of the field, the centre was handpicked by Alcon, one of the world’s largest eye care companies, as the only site in Singapore to conduct a Phase 4 Clinical Trial on the latest designed multifocal lens implant. The centre was also the first in Southeast Asia to implant these latest designed multifocal lens implants.
The large 3,000sqft facility inclusive of a mini café, provides a host of eye services, including all forms of refractive surgery available today –Wavefront Optimised LASIK, Epi-LASIK, Bladeless LASIK or Implantable Contact Len (ICL) – presbyopia treatment, cataract surgery, corneal transplants, glaucoma and diabetic eye treatments, management of ocular inflammations, myopia screening and control programmes children as well as contact lens services. The clinic also provides links to various spectacle shops all over Singapore to aid patients in the convenience of purchasing their spectacles.
